This work originated with the aim of controlling another unconscious physical function. The video shows the minute­-long struggle against the reflex of blinking. The eyes gradually fill with tear fluid, the effort involved is always clearly visible from the artist’s facial expression, until eventually his will has to give into the will of the body and the artist’s eyes close in relief.
